Job Requirements
- Direct deposit and social security card required
- Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
- One-year probationary period may be required
- Successfully complete E-Verify check
- Minimum age of 18 at appointment
- Completion of Child Care Tier 1 background investigation
- Completion and maintenance of the Crime Control Act
- Satisfactory job performance and completion of training requirements
- Travel to on and off post locations
- Current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable diseases, and immunizations including annual influenza vaccinations
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of a 4-year college degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary education, special education, youth development, or related fields
- Experience teaching children or equivalent work demonstrating ability to perform the position’s duties
- Ability to select, train, and supervise childcare employees or care-giving adults
- Experience developing and implementing child development programs including family day care and before and after school programs
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comprehensive oral, written communication, and analytical writing skills
- OR successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in an appropriate CYS field plus relevant experience
- Three months of directly related work experience teaching children or similar work
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Job Duties
- Serve as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director assisting the supervisor in program operations
- Provide program oversight and accountability for staff performance and children’s safety
- Assist in maintaining DoD/Army certification and ensure national accreditation standards are met
- Provide professional recognition and disciplinary action for staff
- Conduct written staff observations and evaluate employee performance
- Collaborate with other CYS Managers to ensure seamless service and quality program continuity
- Serve as a member of the CYS Program Plan Team to develop strategies for program improvement
