Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Navy Entry Level training or equivalent for intermediate level
- Six months of experience working with children or youth for intermediate level
- One year of experience working with children or youth for target level
- Completion of DoD standardized training or valid CDA/MSA credential or minimum two-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Youth Recreation, Physical Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Youth Development, or related field
- Must provide a copy of H.S. diploma, GED, or college transcripts showing degree awarded/conferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to complete required training within specified timeframe
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
Job Qualifications

- Ability to complete all Department of the Navy training requirements within the specified timeframe
- Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
- Knowledge of basic child and youth development principles to meet physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs
- Ability to implement developmentally appropriate principles and practices for high-quality care
- Ability to interpret curriculum or activity plans
- Six months of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting
- Knowledge of child and youth development principles to inform program response
- Skill to implement child and youth development principles and services
- Skill to work cooperatively as a member of a team
- Skill in verbal communication for program information
- One year of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting
- Completion of Department of Defense standardized training courses or valid CDA/MSA credential or minimum two-year degree in relevant fields
Job Duties
- Keep children and youth actively engaged and safe during program participation
- Help children develop social skills such as friendship building and conflict resolution
- Encourage healthy choices including nutritional snacks and suitable recreational activities
- Build self-help and school readiness skills in children and youth
- Facilitate exploration of the environment to support learning and development
- Promote and foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers
- Work cooperatively as a member of a team
