Job Description
The Child and Youth Program (CYP) is dedicated to providing quality and nutritious food services to children and youth within various child development settings. The CYP Food Service Worker plays a vital role in ensuring that food preparation and service meet established health, safety, and quality standards, supporting the wellness and growth of children in the program. This position is primarily located in a Child Development Center (CDC) but may also provide assistance with food preparation for the School Age Care (SAC) Program, reflecting the flexibility and teamwork needed to maintain high standards across different youth services environments.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service or food preparation preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and servings
- Ability to follow recipes and food preparation instructions accurately
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety in food service areas
- Willingness to assist in different food service programs as needed

Job Duties
- Perform a variety of food preparation tasks including measuring and mixing ingredients as per recipes

- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and food service areas
- Follow proper food handling and personal hygiene standards to ensure safety
- Assist with inventory management and storage of food supplies
- Evaluate final food products for quality and initiate corrective actions if necessary
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding food service operations
