Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months work experience
  • Data entry and keyboard experience required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

  • Knowledge of customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedules preferred
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Los Angeles, California
  • Mandatory overtime may be required during periods of high volume
  • May require working on company-recognized holidays

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Process commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risks through proper classification and duty preference application
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet or customs
  • Perform data entry and process various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and handle participating government agencies
  • Maintain and keep shipment documentation current and compliant with record keeping requirements
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • Work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operating companies, customers and government agencies to deliver service
  • Process agency brokerage shipments and may handle remote filings
  • Perform entry reconciliations and reviews as needed
  • Follow up on customs matters and resolve problems
  • Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
