Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • minimum of 6 months work experience required
  • data entry and keyboard experience required
  • proficiency with MS Office and Outlook required
  • ability to handle a high volume of work
  • ability to handle time sensitive work
  • ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • ability to use multiple systems and reference material
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • experience interacting with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff and management

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • process commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risk of liquidated damages and penalties through classification and duty preference application
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using database, SOPs, tariff book, internet or Customs
  • data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and other participating government agencies
  • maintain and keep shipment documentation in compliance with record keeping requirements
  • adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • work closely with internal staff, customers, brokers, carriers, and government agencies to deliver high level of service
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • handle remote filings
  • perform entry reconciliations as needed
  • ensure compliance with all government and organizational policies
  • follow up on customs matters and resolve problems
  • perform entry reviews as needed
