Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months work experience
  • Data entry and keyboard experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Inter-personal skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in using multiple systems and reference materials
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management, and departments
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Process commodities identified as requiring specialized processing to reduce risks of penalties
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases and references
  • Perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and multiple government agencies
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • Work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-level service
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings
  • Perform entry reconciliations and reviews as needed
  • Follow up on Customs matters and resolve problems
  • Ensure compliance with government and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
