Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 6 months work experience
  • data entry and keyboard skills
  • proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • problem-solving skills
  • ability to manage high volume workloads and meet tight deadlines
  • ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • capable of using multiple systems and reference materials
  • must reside in Miami, Florida
  • Monday through Friday work availability from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST
  • preferred CCS and/or broker's license

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 12 months of industry experience preferred
  • minimum of 6 months work experience required
  • data entry/keyboard experience
  • proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • interpersonal skills
  • problem-solving abilities
  • ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work independently
  • knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred
  • ability to interact professionally with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management at all levels

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
  • provide impeccable customer service
  • process commodities requiring specialized handling to reduce risks of liquidated damages and penalties
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet or customs resources
  • perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and participating government agencies
  • maintain and update shipment documentation in compliance with recordkeeping requirements
  • adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
  • liaise with internal staff, other FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to ensure high service levels
  • process agency brokerage shipments and remote filings
  • perform entry reconciliations and reviews as required
  • follow up on customs matters and resolve related problems
  • comply with all government and organizational policies
  • perform additional duties as assigned
