Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Data entry and keyboard experience required
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
  • Ability to operate office equipment including phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must live within 50 miles of Anchorage, Alaska for hybrid remote work
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 4 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
  • Experience with data entry and office equipment such as phones, fax, photocopiers, printers, and scanners
  • Ability to handle high volumes of time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Preferred but not required: minimum of 6 months work experience

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for goods entry into the US on behalf of importers
  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet or customs
  • Data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and participating government agencies
  • Maintain and update shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
  • Collaborate with internal staff, other FedEx operations, customers, carriers, brokers, and government agencies to ensure high-quality service
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings as needed
  • Ensure compliance with government and organizational policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
