Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • no industry experience required
  • minimum 6 months work experience preferred
  • data entry and keyboard experience required
  • proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • good interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • ability to operate multiple systems and use reference material
  • willingness to interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management
  • able to work Monday to Friday 1pm-9pm
  • must live within 50 miles of Anchorage Alaska

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for goods entry
  • provide impeccable customer service to importers
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release
  • perform data entry and processing of import-related documents
  • maintain shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
  • collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • handle remote filings
  • ensure compliance with government and organizational policies
  • perform other assigned duties
