Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No prior industry experience required
  • Minimum of 6 months work experience preferred
  • Data entry and keyboard experience required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and reference materials
  • Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders including customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office and email applications such as Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable handling high volumes of work and time-sensitive tasks
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management at all levels
  • Residency within a 50-mile radius of Springfield, Missouri preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation for US Customs and government agencies for goods entry into the US
  • Provide exceptional customer service to various stakeholders
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs clearance
  • Perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation
  • Maintain shipment documentation ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Adhere to international import and export regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth customs processes
  • Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and government policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
