Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • no industry experience required
  • minimum of 6 months work experience preferred
  • data entry/keyboard experience required
  • proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • ability to use office equipment including phone fax photocopier printer scanner
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • interpersonal skills
  • problem-solving skills
  • capable of handling high volume and time-sensitive work
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • ability to use multiple systems and reference material
  • ability to interact with customers carriers brokers government agencies internal staff management at all levels and internal departments

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by U.S. Customs and Government Agencies for goods entry
  • provide impeccable customer service
  • obtain correct classification of goods using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs resources
  • enter and process import-related documentation for submission
  • handle documentation for all participating Government Agencies
  • maintain and update shipment records compliant with record keeping requirements
  • adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
  • collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • manage remote filings as needed
  • ensure compliance with all government and organizational policies
  • perform additional duties as assigned
