Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No industry experience required
  • Minimum 6 months work experience preferred
  • Data entry and keyboard experience required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference material
  • Ability to interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management of all levels

Job Qualifications

  • 6 months of work experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for goods entry into the US on behalf of importers
  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet or customs
  • Enter and process import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and participating Government Agencies
  • Maintain and update all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Ensure adherence to international import and export regulations
  • Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers to provide high-level service
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings when necessary
  • Follow all government and organizational policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
