Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum of two years business experience preferred, including at least one year related experience
  • data entry and keyboarding skills required
  • proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • problem-solving capabilities
  • ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • capability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • ability to interact with various stakeholders including customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal departments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • strong working knowledge of CBP regulations and harmonized tariff codes preferred
  • excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • ability to analyze data and make sound decisions in time-sensitive environment
  • strong organizational skills for managing multiple duties and deadlines
  • proficient in MS Office and Outlook
  • experience with office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • ability to use multiple computer systems and reference materials
  • experience interacting with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal staff

Job Duties

  • Assign work to appropriate queue for entry processing
  • process live and quota entries
  • handle FDA/FWS entries, scrolling, voids, deletes and voluntary entries
  • analyze documentation to determine harmonized tariff numbers and special tariff treatments
  • ensure compliance with customs and PGA laws and regulations
  • complete classification of imported merchandise with proper tariff classification and duty rate calculations
  • contact customers to resolve classification questions or obtain required documentation
  • complete release and classification processing of aged shipments
  • respond to inquiries regarding clearance status of shipments
  • communicate with customers, CBP, and government agencies to obtain release information
  • research unapplied cash and non-payments using accounting systems
  • make necessary account adjustments as directed
  • process monthly and additional invoices for FedEx Express
