Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • data entry and keyboard experience required
  • minimum of 6 months work experience preferred
  • proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner
  • excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • strong organizational skills
  • interpersonal skills
  • problem solving skills
  • ability to handle high volume and time sensitive work
  • ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • ability to use multiple systems and reference material
  • must live within 50 miles of Indianapolis, IN
  • availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • willing to complete five weeks of in-office training

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
  • provide impeccable customer service
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOPs, tariff book, internet or customs
  • perform data entry and processing of various import documentation for submission to US Customs and handle all participating Government Agencies
  • maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record keeping requirements
  • adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high level of service
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • handle remote filings
  • ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
  • perform other duties as assigned
