Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • minimum of 6 months work experience preferred
  • data entry and keyboard experience required
  • proficiency in MS Office and Outlook required
  • experience with office equipment required
  • excellent communication skills required
  • good organizational and interpersonal skills required
  • strong problem-solving skills required
  • ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work required
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision required
  • ability to use multiple systems and reference materials required
  • must live within 50 miles of Los Angeles, California
  • availability to work Tuesday-Saturday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm PT
  • ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management at all levels

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for goods entry into the US on behalf of importers
  • provide impeccable customer service
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet or customs
  • perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs
  • handle all Participating Government Agency shipments
  • maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • adhere to international import and export regulations
  • collaborate with internal departments, FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high service levels
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • handle remote filings
  • ensure compliance with government and organizational policies
  • perform other assigned duties
