Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in entry writing or brokerage operations
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and import procedures
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and customer service focus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years entry writing and/or brokerage operation experience
  • Prior utilization of CargoWise One preferred
  • Knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities and ocean ports
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver high level of customer service
  • Detail-oriented and organized with effective multitasking ability
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Classify import items and notify Customs to determine appropriate import duties
  • Train and advise team members in areas of Customs regulations, classification and valuation
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in US Customs regulations, classification and valuation
  • Perform audit reviews on brokerage files and payments to customs
  • Develop written procedures for handling accounts including billing and Customs correspondence
  • Process high-volume and complex import transactions through the Company’s ABI system
  • Review and monitor Customs rejections and government correspondence
