Job Requirements
- Certification as Certified Customs Specialist or equivalent
- advanced knowledge of customs law and regulations
- minimum 10 years of experience in customs management
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- knowledge of Canadian customs is a plus
- fluency in a second language such as Spanish or French is a plus
- experience with SAP S4 Hana GTS and TM modules
- valid work authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Certified Customs Specialist CCS or equivalent
- advanced knowledge in customs law and regulations including HS codes Incoterms customs procedures free trade agreements and Section 232 regulation
- 10 plus years of experience in customs managing international inbound shipments and relations with custom brokers
- ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and good team player
- knowledge of customs in Canada is a plus
- spoken a second language such as Spanish and or French is a plus
- experience coming from a custom broker or licensed broker is a relevant plus
- experience in working with SAP S4 Hana modules of GTS and TM
Job Duties
- Manage customs operations for inbound shipments ensuring timely clearance and delivery
- review and validate import documentation against trade compliance requirements
- prepare and submit detailed customs instructions in SAP GTS for brokers
- collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and provide accurate information for customs processes
- monitor and audit customs entries addressing discrepancies and coordinating corrections
- analyze delays and implement improvements to prevent storage costs and delivery issues
- develop and maintain performance reports daily monthly yearly for customs operations
- support cost-saving initiatives through process optimization in customs matters
- ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines
