Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
- strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to learn new software quickly
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- analytical, proactive, and eager to develop skills in international trade
- internship or entry-level experience in logistics or import/export operations a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and file customs entry documentation (CF 3461, 7501, ISF) accurately and in compliance with CBP requirements
- classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duty rates and fees
- review and verify import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and arrival notices
- enter import entry data into the company's customs software with a high degree of accuracy
- communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and clients to obtain and verify required information
- track shipment progress, monitor clearances, and assist with post-entry corrections and audits
- stay current on CBP regulations, tariff updates, and trade policy changes
- support licensed brokers to ensure compliance with company and federal standards
