Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant entry writing experience
  • 1 to 2 years experience in customs brokerage or import operations
  • Ability to enter data accurately and rapidly
  • Proven skills in customer service and problem solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends or holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of entry writing experience
  • 1 to 2 years experience in customs brokerage or imports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to project a professional image and represent the company positively
  • Customer service experience with problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Perform administrative tasks in import operations department servicing clients and suppliers
  • Provide customer service and maintain revenues from client base and contracted vendors
  • Classify and enter data accurately, photocopy, scan, and assemble import entries
  • Process import air recoveries, check cutting, and delivery order creation
  • Audit commercial documents and apply harmonized tariff schedule codes for accurate duty assessment
  • Review documents for accuracy including country of origin, importer of record, terms of sale, and value
  • Follow up daily on documentation discrepancies, troubleshoot, and communicate effectively with customers and foreign origins
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Work weekend or holiday schedule on a rotation basis as required by operations
