Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business or International Business or similar discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of classification experience with expert knowledge of HTS classification principles, with 1 year of experience determining ECCN export classification codes
  • MS Office knowledge in applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times
  • Valid passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in Canada, USA, Mexico

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business or International Business or similar discipline
  • US Customs broker's license and/or CCS designation preferred but not required
  • CES (Certified Export Specialist) preferred but not required
  • Minimum 2 years of classification experience with expert knowledge of HTS classification principles, with 1 year of experience determining ECCN export classification codes
  • MS Office knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Complete HTS and ECCN tariff classification determinations, reviews, and opinions
  • Submit applications for customs rulings for complex tariff, origin, and valuation opinions
  • Review and maintain database integrity by utilizing both internal and client provided software to organize, prioritize workload, draft processes, and create reports
  • Provide broker and client assistance with antidumping and countervailing duty assessments or equivalent (e.g., SIMA in Canada)
  • Liaise with significant business partners on Customs compliance issues
  • Apply Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
  • Maintain a well-organized calendar to balance meetings, tasks, and future initiatives
  • Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively
