Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, or other relevant degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in U.S. foreign trade, import/export compliance, or customs brokerage setting
  • experience with HTS classification
  • ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • intermediate working knowledge of MS Office suite especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • ability to proficiently navigate web-based applications
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Export Specialist (CES) preferred
  • aircraft parts classification experience preferred
  • experience in distribution warehouse and aerospace aftermarket industry preferred
  • general experience using SAP preferred
  • Hazmat/Dangerous Goods certification within 6 months of hire preferred
  • willingness to attend training and classes

Job Duties

  • Support senior customs advisor with compliance activities and audits
  • support customs broker and distribution provider with daily import clearance, export shipments, and transportation requests
  • assign accurate classification to spare parts including HTS and ECCN codes
  • maintain HTS and ECCN databases updated through ERP system and with customs broker
  • support dangerous goods teams with operational compliance specific to hazardous materials
  • maintain dangerous goods Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) repository and ensure data accuracy
  • manage licensed parts subject to licensing and legal reviews
  • review and store physical and digital import and export documentation
  • recover and audit Automated Export System (AES) filings and documentation
  • support third-party logistics providers with export and transportation matters
  • perform other duties as assigned
