Job Requirements

  • HS or GED required
  • Generally, 1 year of experience in related field
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Job Duties

  • Classify dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency rules and regulations
  • Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume of merchandise that is imported or exported to foreign countries
  • Process all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries
  • Examine invoices, bills of lading and shipping documents to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Communicate with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and special handling and delivery processes
  • Apply for import/export permits and certificates of eligibility
  • Provide information to and communicate with department of foreign affairs
  • Generate invoices on a daily basis
  • May receive and distribute all incoming/outgoing mail and correspondence
