Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 12 months of experience in brokerage, transportation, or customer service
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
  • Experience with office equipment such as phone, fax, printer, scanner
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage high volume and time-sensitive tasks
  • Detail-oriented nature
  • Familiarity with HTS classification and harmonized tariff system
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and federal regulations relevant to the position
  • Ability to work independently.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 12 months brokerage or transportation experience or customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of HTS classification and familiarity with the harmonized tariff system
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and federal import-export requirements
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Job Duties

  • Provide consistent high-quality customer service to ensure timely freight release and movement
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit customs documentation adhering to regulations
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems impacting shipment schedules
  • Maintain relationships with brokers and service providers to exceed customer service expectations
  • Resolve banking, letter of credit, and billing issues
  • Advise customers on payment terms and manage delinquent accounts
  • Perform data input, entry verification, and reconciliation tasks
  • Coordinate post-entry activities and support account administrators with exception management
  • Produce operational trend reports and keep stakeholders informed on exception processes
  • Develop strong working relationships with customer front-line personnel
  • Perform duties related to customs trade processes to support office operations
  • Handle pre-arrival and post-arrival exception resolution
  • Comply with all assigned duties and additional tasks as required.
