Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 12 months brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
  • Able to operate office equipment including phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle high work volume and time-sensitive tasks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic knowledge of HTS classification and harmonized tariff system
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and federal compliance requirements
  • Willingness to comply with FedEx Logistics screening processes
  • Able to work hybrid schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm PST
  • Work location within 50-mile radius of South San Francisco

  • Experience in data entry and documentation handling

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to appropriate parties (U.S. Customs, agents, clients) ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems delaying the timely release or movement of freight
  • Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to enhance customer service
  • Resolve banking and letter of credit problems
  • Advise customers on payment terms and obtain payment on delinquent accounts
  • Resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activities on customer's behalf
  • Complete accurate data input and corrections into computer files
  • Perform root cause analysis as directed by the Account Administrator
  • Coordinate entry verification process and manage post-entry activities
  • Access client systems as necessary
  • Correspond with business partners via written, phone, or email communications
  • Produce operational trend reports and keep business partners informed on exception processes
  • Receive and respond to pre-alerts per customer SOP
  • Maintain general knowledge of FedEx products and services
  • Support Account Administrators with account management activities including exception logs and special spreadsheets
  • Perform entry reconciliation as needed
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer's front-line personnel
  • Perform customs trade processes to support small office structure
  • Facilitate entry processing and manage pre-arrival and post-arrival exception resolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
