Job Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good knowledge of customs brokerage processes and systems
  • Good knowledge of customs legislation especially classification, valuation and origin
  • Understanding of ocean and air documentation process
  • Knowledge of air, road and ocean transport
  • Good knowledge of incoterms
  • Effective interpersonal skills including listening and clear communication
  • Pro-active and strong organizational skills
  • Computer skills
  • Fluent in English

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow
  • Ensure accurate and timely client billing
  • Understand all the elements of the import and export customs DLSOP and correctly interpret this information to meet customer expectations
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operating system
  • Transpose customs declaration information into the customs entry system to build valid declarations
  • Assist with verification and submission of customs declarations to authorities
  • Track and trace customs files
  • Interact with customs authorities to resolve issues
  • Attend customs inspections and present documents when requested
  • Act as liaison between customs authorities, government agencies, and customers
  • Ensure timely customs clearance of cargo for imports and exports
  • Verify compliance of import and export documents
  • Interact with customers to arrange international shipments
  • Maintain strong relationships with customs officers
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Identify and implement process flow improvements
  • Keep up to date with all regulatory requirements for imports and exports
  • Meet KPI standards
  • Respond promptly to internal and external communications
