Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 6 months of relevant brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
  • proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • strong organizational and inter-personal abilities
  • proven problem-solving skills
  • capacity to manage high volume and time-sensitive tasks
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • detail-oriented approach
  • knowledge of HTS classification and familiarity with the harmonized tariff system
  • knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and related federal laws
  • willingness to participate in paid training
  • flexibility to work Monday-Friday 9:00 pm to 5:30 am in a hybrid setting at Tonawanda, NY

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to appropriate parties to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight
  • maintain relationships with brokers, transportation and brokerage service providers
  • resolve banking and letter of credit issues
  • advise customers on payment terms
  • obtain payments on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustments
  • resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activity
  • enter accurate data into computer systems
  • perform root cause analysis as directed
  • manage entry verification processes
  • access client external systems
  • correspond with business partners via written, phone, or email
  • produce operational trend reports
  • keep business partners informed of exceptions processes
  • respond to pre-alerts per customer standard operating procedures
  • maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services
  • interact effectively with customers and internal staff at all levels
  • develop and maintain strong relationships with customer front-line personnel
  • facilitate entry processing and exception resolution
  • perform other duties as assigned
