Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service abilities
Flexibility to work varying hours and days
Willingness to learn and develop in customs brokerage

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Job Duties

Classify import/export shipments to ensure compliance with government regulations
Calculate applicable duties, tariffs, price conversions, and assess the weight and volume of imported or exported goods
Handle requests for extensions, expirations, cancellations, and government entries efficiently
Review invoices, bills of lading, and shipping documents to confirm adherence to federal regulations
Maintain communication with both origin and destination points regarding shipment updates and special delivery processes
Apply for necessary import/export permits and certificates of eligibility
Collaborate with the Department of Foreign Affairs, providing necessary information
Generate daily invoices to ensure accurate accounts
Meet key performance indicators related to entry accuracy and filing timely submissions
