Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Six months of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of HTS classification and harmonized tariff system
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and relevant federal requirements
  • Paid training provided

Job Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Six months of brokerage, transportation, and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
  • Skilled with office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solving abilities
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of HTS classification and familiarity with harmonized tariff system
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and federal requirements relevant to the role

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to relevant parties to ensure compliance with customs laws and regulations
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay freight release or movement
  • Maintain relationships with brokers and service providers to meet customer service standards
  • Resolve banking and letter of credit issues
  • Advise customers on payment terms and obtain payment on delinquent accounts
  • Resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activities
  • Input accurate data and perform corrections in computer files
  • Conduct root cause analysis as directed
  • Manage entry verification process
  • Access clients' external systems as needed
  • Communicate with business partners via written, phone, or email
  • Produce operational trend reports and update partners on exception processes
  • Respond to pre-alerts following customer SOP
  • Maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services
  • Interact with customers, internal staff, and management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer front-line personnel
  • Facilitate entry processing and exception resolution
  • Perform other assigned duties
