Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of brokerage or transportation experience or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, fax, photocopier, printer and scanner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of harmonized tariff system classification
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and other federal agency requirements
  • Willingness to work a hybrid schedule Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm PST
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Auburn, WA location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong working knowledge of product classification using harmonized tariff schedule
  • Familiarity with other federal agency regulations and import requirements
  • Excellent data entry and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Experience with office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer and scanner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and other federal requirements
  • Prior experience in brokerage, transportation, or customer service preferred

Job Duties

  • Collect and enter data required for customs entry, entry summary and single-entry bonds
  • Prepare carrier delivery orders, FTN t&
  • b invoices and other government agency documents
  • Determine accurate tariff classification and value for customs entry and entry summary
  • Identify applicability of other government agencies' requirements and collect necessary information for declarations
  • Input required data into systems for transmission to federal agencies such as FDA, EPA and FCC
  • Coordinate additional billings and corrections of data to resolve customs rejects and census warnings
  • Operate data entry equipment accurately and efficiently
  • Determine documents for customs presentation, file retention and client distribution
  • Use data dictionary for goods classification
  • Transmit data for U.S. Customs and other government agency release and delivery
  • Monitor automated broker interface transmissions and correct errors
  • Maintain master files and data dictionary by updating customer records with proper classifications
  • Collaborate with team members to provide high-quality service
