Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months brokerage, transportation or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office and office equipment including phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of HTS classification and customs regulations
  • Willingness to undergo paid training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong working knowledge of product classification using the harmonized tariff schedule
  • Familiarity with federal import regulations including FDA, EPA, and FCC requirements
  • Excellent data entry and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience in brokerage, transportation or customer service preferred

Job Duties

  • Collect and input all required data for customs entry, entry summary and single-entry bonds
  • Prepare carrier delivery orders, FTN t&b invoices and other government agency documents
  • Determine accurate tariff classification and value for customs entry and entry summary
  • Assess applicability of other government agency requirements and input necessary data for transmission
  • Coordinate additional billings and corrections for customs rejects and census warnings
  • Operate data entry equipment, keying data in prescribed formats
  • Monitor ABI transmissions and correct errors
  • Maintain master files and data dictionaries under the guidance of customer service coordinator
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high quality service
