Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work independently
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of HTS classification and harmonized tariff system
  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and federal requirements
  • Willingness to work third shift schedule
  • Paid training provided

Job Qualifications

  • Six months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of HTS classification
  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and federal requirements
  • Experience with office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner

Job Duties

  • Provide consistent customer service and resolution to ensure timely release and movement of freight
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems delaying freight release
  • Maintain relationships with brokers, T&B, and service providers to exceed customer service requirements
  • Resolve banking and letter of credit issues
  • Advise customers on payment terms
  • Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustments
  • Resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activities on customers' behalf
  • Complete accurate data input and corrections into computer files
  • Perform root cause analysis as directed
  • Manage entry verification process
  • Access external client systems as necessary
  • Correspond with business partners via written, phone, or email
  • Produce operational trend reports
  • Keep business partners informed of exception processes
  • Receive and respond to pre-alerts per customer SOP
  • Maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services
  • Interact with customers, internal staff, management at all levels
  • Develop strong relationships with customer's front-line personnel
  • Facilitate entry processing and exception resolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned
