Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least 6 months of brokerage or transportation experience preferred
  • proficiency in MS Office and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner)
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • problem-solving ability
  • ability to manage high workload and time-sensitive tasks
  • capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
  • detail orientation
  • knowledge of HTS classification
  • understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and related federal requirements
  • residence within a 50-mile radius of 555 Riverwalk Parkway, Tonawanda, NY
  • availability for Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm EST hybrid schedule

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
  • proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • effective problem-solving skills
  • ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • detail oriented
  • knowledge of HTS classification and U.S. Customs regulations
  • familiarity with federal regulations related to customs and trade

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients
  • anticipate, identify, and resolve problems delaying freight release or movement
  • maintain relationships with brokers, T&
  • B, and service providers
  • resolve banking and letter of credit problems
  • advise customers on payment terms
  • obtain payment on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustments
  • resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activity
  • complete accurate data input and corrections
  • perform route cause analysis
  • coordinate post-entry activities on the customer's behalf
  • manage entry verification process
  • access client systems as necessary
  • correspond with business partners via written, phone, or e-mail communication
  • produce operational trend reports
  • keep business partners apprised of the exception process
  • receive and respond to pre-alerts per customer SOP
  • maintain general knowledge of FedEx products and services
  • interact with customers, internal staff, and management
  • develop and maintain strong relationships with customers' front-line personnel
  • facilitate entry processing and exception resolution
  • perform other duties as assigned
