Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum six months experience in brokerage or transportation or customer service preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment including phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle high volume, time-sensitive tasks
  • Detail oriented with problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge in HTS classification and familiarity with harmonized tariff system
  • Understanding of U.S. customs and other federal agency import regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of product classification using the harmonized tariff schedule
  • Strong understanding of other federal agency regulations related to imports
  • Excellent data entry and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Detail oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and harmonized tariff system

Job Duties

  • Collect and enter data for customs entry, entry summary and single-entry bonds
  • Determine accurate tariff classification and value for customs entry and entry summary
  • Identify and comply with other government agencies' requirements for imports
  • Input required data into systems for transmission to federal agencies such as FDA, EPA, FCC
  • Coordinate billings and data corrections to resolve customs rejects and census warnings
  • Operate data entry equipment and software to ensure accurate information processing
  • Maintain master files and data dictionaries under guidance to update customer product classifications
