Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Successful completion of the Customer Service Assessment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Intermediate computer skills for data entry and retrieval
- Ability to work indoors and occasionally perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and lifting
- Willingness to undergo pre and post-employment screenings including drug testing according to Department of Transportation and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Successful completion of the Customer Service Assessment demonstrating communication and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills for data entry, reference or retrieval tasks
- Previous experience with a Customer Information System is a plus
- Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Demonstrated ability to work in an indoor environment with occasional physical activity
- Ability to adhere to safety-sensitive job requirements including drug testing
Job Duties
- Responds to current and prospective customers regarding basic service connections, disconnections, billing questions and payment arrangements
- Receives and processes basic transactions and requests based on designated level of authority
- Forwards other issues to appropriate level of responsibility
- Addresses customer issues utilizing current company policies and procedures
- Corrects errors on customer accounts to ensure accuracy using an online Customer Information System
- Communicates correct information to customers in a timely, professional manner
- Researches potential discrepancies on customer accounts and takes appropriate action to verify customer identity, address(es) and delinquent accounts as required
- Handles customer calls to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other potential emergency situations, exercising caution and adhering to standardized processes
