Job Duties

  • Greet customers in a welcoming and professional manner
  • utilize customer-focused interpersonal skills such as smiling, eye contact, and providing undivided attention
  • assist customers in locating items
  • acknowledge waiting customers promptly
  • thank customers for their business
  • work safely to prevent harm to self, customers, co-workers, equipment, or inventory
  • process checkout, exchange and return transactions using cash registers and card terminals
  • process sale items, coupons, and discounts accurately
  • handle cash accurately and maintain proper cash levels in register drawer
  • bag items for customers
  • refill register paper
  • make helpful product recommendations
  • identify opportunities to sell additional merchandise or services
  • answer incoming phone calls professionally and courteously
  • provide information regarding order status, product availability, sales, promotions, and store events
  • replenish merchandise and face products on shelves ensuring neat and professional presentation
  • monitor store entrances and exits to promote safety and security
  • escalate security concerns to store leadership
  • perform daily housekeeping duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and dusting
  • provide assistance with various store functions to support the team
  • perform all other job functions as assigned
