Job Requirements
- Valid Iowa driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating on-call schedule after training
- High-level language, math, and reasoning abilities
- Experience using personal computers and specialized software systems
- Willingness to learn diabetic shoe fitting techniques
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to assess for safety in home environments during equipment delivery
- Must be patient and customer-facing at all times in job
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of home medical equipment (HME) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in personal computer use including 10-key calculator, Microsoft Office, and database software
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for safety and equipment use
Job Duties
- Assist patients and customers in obtaining correct medical equipment to meet needs and assess for safe use
- Demonstrate types of equipment and appropriate setup and use to customers in showroom and via inquiries
- Fit patients with appropriate products based on physician orders and patient needs
- Encourage purchase of retail items to patients interested in additional products
- Obtain insurance information and enter data into computer system for verification of benefits as needed
- Utilize HME computer system to enter data for purchase or rental based on item
- Document safety and use education provided to patients
- Participate in diabetic shoe fitting training and assist customers with orders and fittings for shoes, stockings, walkers, and other home care items
