Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Supervise museum admissions and gift shop ensuring positive customer experience while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Responsible for training and operations of POS cash register system including proper handling of cash, checks, charges, receipts, and billable accounts
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff
  • Create team building, set expectations and goals for admissions staff
  • Resolve customer complaints or departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management
  • Create and collaborate promotions to drive revenue and increase visitation
  • Ensure visitor safety by monitoring, reporting, and coordinating the resolution of facility issues or safety concerns throughout the museum grounds
  • Maintain visitor feedback, contact information, and review to enhance the overall visitor experience
  • Oversee museum store operations including procurement of merchandise, pricing and promotions, inventory management, and reporting
  • Annual development and adherence to cost of goods sold budget in partnership with management
  • Collaborate with staff and management to develop and enhance merchandise mix and associated promotions
  • Responsible for merchandising the museum store, including product placement, visual presentation, and maintaining brand and organizational standards
  • Require technological adaptability including the ability to learn, implement, and troubleshoot new software systems independently and efficiently
  • Analyze sales data, reports, and performance metrics to support business goals
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across retail operations, documentation, and data tracking
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills with internal teams and visitors to support daily operations and customer service
  • Track technical support tickets for computers, kiosks, and all other department technology devices to ensure all is operational for staff and customer needs
  • Identify areas of opportunity, evaluate impacts, and implement changes that will drive a positive and effective customer experience
  • Assist with museum events and facility rentals as needed
  • Provide support for group tours, field trips and facility rentals inquiries
  • Provide support for museum marketing and promotional initiatives by partnering with the marketing team to develop and execute seasonal and event-related promotions for the museum store and admissions
  • Work a flexible schedule to cover museum operating hours and special events as required
  • Perform other duties assigned
