Job Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age to sell tobacco products
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling experience
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of retail operations
- Knowledge of merchandising procedures
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Ability to handle math calculations
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
- Possession of Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) certificate
- Valid Food Handlers or Food Workers Card
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 pounds
- Availability to work weekends and evenings
- Commitment to regular and predictable attendance.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling and customer service experience
- Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read write and speak English
- Basic math skills including addition subtraction multiplication and division
- Ability to adapt to variable situations with limited standardization
- Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) certification
- Food Handlers Card or Food Workers Card
- Attendance at required training sessions seminars and educational classes
- Computer skills aligned with job applications.
Job Duties
- Provides exceptional customer service representing Vitus positively including pleasant greeting smiling making eye contact soliciting additional sales processing transactions accurately thanking customers and inviting return
- Responsible for all retail sales including selling tobacco in compliance with federal state local and company regulations
- Opens and closes the store as needed
- Handles cash and operates a computer-based cash register
- Balances cash register at the end of shifts and secures all funds in safes or registers
- Makes timely cash drops maintaining cash drawer at or below maximum levels per company policies
- Performs daily cleaning of the station maintaining a safe work environment
- Complies with company carding policies for age-restricted products
- Prepares food and drinks cleans stocks and maintains food prep areas following health codes
- Maintains inventory restocks shelves and refills dispensing machines
- Ensures security of store items assisting in loss prevention
- Takes precautions to protect company assets
- Maintains cleanliness of the store and properly merchandises packaged goods
- Completes cash reconciliation and closing reports accurately on closing shifts
- Engages in courteous professional interaction with co-workers customers vendors and community
- Demonstrates neat appearance and adheres to company hygiene and image standards
- Preserves safety for self fellow employees and others in the workplace
- Conducts transactions quickly and accurately following company guidelines
- Performs all daily duties including merchandise stocking and cleaning
- Communicates effectively and supports the Store Manager
- Observes all company safety policies and procedures
- Provides regular and predictable attendance
- Fulfills other duties as assigned.
