Job Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age to sell tobacco products
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling experience
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic math proficiency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to work in a retail environment including standing and walking for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions as required
- Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP)
- Food Handler's or Food Worker’s Card
- Completion of required departmental training sessions and seminars
- Computer skills appropriate for position functions
- Commitment to maintaining a neat appearance and good personal hygiene
- Adherence to company safety standards and procedures

Job Duties
- Provides exceptional customer service, representing Vitus positively including greeting, smiling, making eye contact, soliciting additional sales, processing transactions accurately, thanking customers and inviting their return
- Responsible for all retail sales including tobacco sales in compliance with regulations
- Opens and closes the store as needed
- Handles cash transactions and operates the computer-based cash register
- Balances cash register and reconciles cash drawers at end of shifts
- Secures funds in safe or register and makes timely deposits
- Performs daily cleaning and maintains safe work environment
- Complies with carding requirements for age-restricted products
- Prepares food and drinks and maintains food prep areas according to health codes
- Maintains inventory levels, restocks shelves, and refills dispensing machines
- Ensures security of store items to prevent loss
- Maintains cleanliness and merchandising standards of store and packaged goods
- Ensures accurate transaction processing and closing reports
- Communicates effectively with coworkers, customers, vendors, and the community
- Supports Store Manager as directed and observes all company safety policies
- Performs other duties as assigned
