Job Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able to push or pull baggage carts and operate baggage equipment such as tow tractors
  • Knowledge of Amtrak ticketing processing and fare tariffs
  • Compliance with corporate, company, and station policies
  • Skilled in use of ticketing machines and Passenger Information Display System
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Positive and good-natured attitude
  • Comfortable using public address system and computer systems
  • Able to perform janitorial and baggage handling duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Skilled in processing all types of Amtrak tickets and fare tariffs
  • Qualified in operating Arrow, RailRes/Stars, and QuikTrak systems
  • Familiarity with Passenger Information Display System operation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive and customer-focused attitude
  • Comfortable interacting with customers and using Amtrak computer systems

Job Duties

  • Greet passengers and provide superior customer service
  • Assist customers with special needs and baggage handling
  • Make ticket reports and safeguard company funds
  • Maintain ticket printers, Quik-Trak machines, and information racks
  • Provide verbal and printed information about schedules, fares, routing, and tours
  • Ensure timely train boarding and verify passenger ticketing and baggage compliance
  • Perform janitorial duties and handle company materials and checked baggage
