Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the freight forwarding industry for both international and domestic
  • Basic knowledge of sales
  • Knowledge of inventory control
  • Proficient in PC skills
  • Ability to use basic math skills
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the freight forwarding industry for both international and domestic
  • Basic knowledge of sales
  • Knowledge of inventory control
  • Proficient in PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to use basic math skills to calculate freight, storage, duty and other charges

Job Duties

  • Perform customer service duties with correspondence to customers and overseas partners, e-mails fax, etc
  • Provide customers with shipping information, inbound/outbound transaction and inventory status information
  • Conduct telephone sales to prospective customers
  • Update airline rates for sales department files
  • Set up and maintain customer files and profiles
  • Update inventory data, rate files, and create reports
  • Update statement data and issue invoices for customers in a timely manner
  • Contact customers following sales and activities to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints
  • Contact customers who have not shipped regularly to determine shipping status
  • Assist operation staff with correspondence e-mails, faxes, etc
  • Perform other duties as requested
