Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • supplemented by one year of clerical and/or customer service experience
  • or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
  • must be able to successfully pass criminal background and credit check

  • knowledge of city mailroom procedures
  • skill in the provision of customer services

Job Duties

  • Opens and closes the building each day
  • answers incoming telephone calls
  • communicates with the members and general public
  • provides routine assistance
  • refers callers to other staff members as appropriate
  • forwards calls to appropriate departments
  • and takes messages
  • greets members and the general public
  • provides routine information and assistance
  • and directs members and visitors to appropriate rooms, department or staff
  • handles daily transactions and reconciliations via online registration systems
  • maintains safe and accurate cash handling practices
  • accesses, tracks, and reports hourly headcounts accurately
  • works with the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Services Manager to create the monthly calendar of events and trips
  • works with the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Services Manager to assist in the planning and day of operations for special events and programs
  • maintains organization and inventory of storage areas and supplies
  • compiles weekly report information and other reports as directed
  • performs other related duties as required
