Job Requirements
- Availability to work 10 to 44 hours per week depending on employment type
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to communicate effectively with customers and team leads
- capacity to memorize and apply cash handling and customer service policies
- physical capability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
- adherence to company uniform and conduct policies
- must be able to perform opening and closing store tasks
- willingness to assist different departments as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience in cash handling or retail cashier role advantageous
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to memorize scripts and procedures
- basic mathematical skills for currency handling
- ability to work independently and responsibly
- ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- familiarity with POS systems beneficial
Job Duties
- Operate the cash recycler
- follow the cash handling, uniform, and other relevant policies
- properly bag groceries separating produce and raw meat
- surpass minimum performance standards
- retrieve customer carts from the parking lot
- offer to assist expectant mothers, handicapped, or elderly customers to their cars
- memorize and execute "Top 5" duties
- memorize and execute all scripts and customer interaction norms
- inspect paper currency
- request permission from the cash team lead to leave the station
- perform various opening and closing tasks including cleaning and signage checks
- check freshness of complimentary jalapenos
- restate order totals to customers
- communicate suggestions, needs, problems, or concerns to the cash team lead or supervisors
- execute downtime priorities during slow traffic
- clean customer restrooms
- assist stockers or other functions as needed
- perform floor safety sweeps
- troubleshoot simple POS problems when possible
- report problems promptly
