Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Report inconsistencies or problems to supervisor or operations manager
  • manage order flow to ensure daily requirements are fulfilled
  • coordinate special warehouse projects
  • serve as key resource for personnel needing assistance
  • maintain good working relationships with customers by responding to inquiries and complaints
  • mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities
  • train associates on standard operating procedures including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control documentation
  • assist in forklift operation and certification
  • direct customer service representative team to achieve objectives
  • assist associates and temporary labor with productivity and payroll documentation
  • assist supervisor in workforce management
  • participate in establishing work schedules and ensuring proper job assignments
  • ensure adherence to quality procedures and guidelines by all associates
  • respond to all internal and external customer requests professionally and timely
  • coordinate inbound and outbound activities for assigned accounts
  • process and input customer orders
  • run and print shipments from warehouse management system
  • run stock reports to verify product availability
  • generate paperwork and information for work orders
  • check orders for special requests
  • expedite and trace orders, notifying customers accordingly
  • follow up with other departments to meet service standards
  • ensure accurate invoicing and credit for returned merchandise
  • investigate and communicate client complaints
  • oversee shipping and receiving activities
  • act as liaison between warehouse, office, and customers regarding accounts, invoicing, and credit
  • prepare accurate reports for site management
  • research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • manage documentation including data entry, copying, faxing, filing, and labeling
  • assist in clerical and floor duties
  • ensure accuracy of shipping and receiving documents
  • maintain data and records related to shipping and receiving
  • match receiving counts with packing lists and purchase orders
  • prepare customer service reports
  • resolve discrepancies
  • operate computer terminals proficiently
  • enter and verify customer order and inventory data
  • oversee order paperwork and maintain files
  • answer phone calls and operate office machines
  • greet customers and visitors
  • handle incoming calls courteously
  • route calls and take messages
  • assist callers with general information
  • direct visitors to appropriate departments
  • assist drivers at check-in window
  • oversee warehouse inventories
  • work independently or as team member
  • participate actively in safety programs including hazardous communications and emergency response
  • comply with company policies and procedures
  • cross train in administrative functions
  • work overtime as required
