Job Requirements
- Valid Montana driver’s license with acceptable driving record or ability to obtain within 60 days
- pass fingerprint background check if over 18 and working with youth
- basic CPR certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- six years of relevant education and experience combination
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
- experience in staff supervision
- ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Job Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to six years of recreation management, resource management, experience management, aquatics, recreation program lead experience, or relevant field
- must have a valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain within 60 days
- supervisory experience preferred
- basic CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months
- recreation or special event program experience preferred
Job Duties
- Train and provide daily supervision of assigned staff including developing workflow and schedules and monitoring performance
- assist in the hiring, onboarding, evaluation, and discipline process and work to correct deficiencies
- review, update, and propose job descriptions
- enter and approve employee timecards and payroll data
- enforce City policies, procedures, and code of conduct standards
- oversee program and event schedules, facility rentals, concessions, participant communication, marketing, and community outreach
- coordinate volunteers as necessary
- develop program budgets, fee schedules, apply for and administer grants
- monitor adherence to safety and risk management policies and assist with coordinating safety and training
- conduct follow-up evaluations with participants and staff
- oversee safety and sanitation of facilities and equipment
- manage inventory and purchase equipment and supplies
- oversee invoicing for user groups and organizations
- prepare and analyze various statistical reports
- organize and assist with department policies and goals
- prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents
- greet and provide customer service to patrons by phone and in person
- process payments, refunds, transfers
- reconcile cash and deposits
- manage and maintain Parks & Recreation phone line
- assist with customer experience technology maintenance
- compile and organize front desk materials
- maintain inventory and office supplies
- schedule and lead staff meetings
- plan and oversee food and beverage programs ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
- perform other duties as assigned
