Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Fluent in English writing, reading, and speaking
  • Bilingual language skills may be required in some locations
  • Valid driver’s license as required by local authorities
  • Completion of pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for airport security access
  • Must be able to secure airport authority and/or US Customs security badges if applicable
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to secure airport authority and US Customs security badges if applicable
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Working knowledge of Sabre or any other Passenger Service System preferred
  • Previous face-to-face customer service experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Greeting customers when they enter the airport or arrive in the ticket area
  • Monitor the ticket counter area to ensure safety policies and procedures compliance
  • Assist customers with self-service kiosk check-in and baggage processing
  • Maintain and service kiosk machines including loading paper and troubleshooting issues
  • Communicate with IT for kiosk technology support
  • Verify carry-on baggage complies with FAA and American Airlines policies
  • Clear travel documents using Timatic database for international customers
  • Assist with checked baggage processing including credit card transactions and self-tagging
  • Queue lines based on departure times or assistance needed
  • Activate customers’ self-tagged baggage
  • Physically move baggage in the ticket counter area
  • Assist with assistive devices, sporting equipment, and oversized items
  • Refer customers to customer service agents as appropriate
  • Perform clearance and verification of documents at kiosks
  • Help physically move non-ambulatory customers within the airport
  • Assist unaccompanied minors with boarding and deplaning
  • Provide gate information and directions
  • Perform paging activities
  • Report to work on time and complete all job trainings
  • Adhere to government and company regulations, policies, and performance standards
  • Wear company uniforms as required
  • Provide quality customer service
  • Use multiple internal resources and systems during customer interactions
  • Possibly perform additional duties as required by management
