Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year prior experience in custodial work preferred
- Must successfully pass pre-employment testing including motor vehicle record, background check, physical capabilities examination, and drug screen
- Possession of valid Class R Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within two weeks of appointment
- Willingness to undergo fingerprinting and Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check
- Ability to work Monday to Friday 4pm to 12:30am with availability for evenings, holidays, weekends and emergency events
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 lbs frequently, climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, reaching, crawling and crouching
- Reliable verbal and listening skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year prior experience in custodial field performing duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing and general cleaning
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of safety rules and ability to read at a high school level
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets
- Ability to operate mechanized cleaning equipment
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of duties involving the maintaining and cleaning of Arapahoe County facilities including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and fixtures, replenishing restroom supplies, dusting and polishing furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment, emptying, cleaning and sanitizing centralized waste receptacles and removing debris, assisting with outside trash bins and debris, washing windows, mirrors and walls
- Responds to on-site inquiries from building occupants and staff and helps resolve custodial service requests
- Organizes and prioritizes tasks effectively
- Adapts to changing job priorities and conditions
- Follows safety rules, regulations, and practices
- Operates mechanized cleaning equipment
