Job Requirements
- Six months of related janitorial experience
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral directions
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to exert heavy physical effort including lifting up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to strong odors, traffic hazards, and extreme weather conditions
- Willingness to comply with city policies and attendance requirements
Job Qualifications
- Six months of related janitorial experience
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral directions
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuums
- Ability to recognize safety hazards and take appropriate action
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Drive to and from assigned work locations as assigned
- Perform deep cleaning projects such as dusting and polishing furniture
- Inspect cleanliness of buildings and fill out inspection sheets
- Stock janitors' closets and monitor inventory
- Perform midday cleaning and trash removal in break rooms and restrooms
- Perform periodic floor detailing and strip and wax floors
- Handle daily meeting setups and takedowns
- Clean rooftops and gutters periodically
- Perform maintenance tasks such as changing AC filters, light bulbs, and batteries in flush valves
- Comply with all city policies and procedures
- Adhere to assigned work schedule
- Perform related work as required
