Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- six months of custodial experience required
- valid Driver's License
- proof of automobile insurance
- background check with acceptable record
- acceptable driving record
- ability to perform physical demands including lifting up to 20 pounds
- ability to walk, hear, speak, and use close and distance vision
- ability to carry out oral and written instructions
- ability to maintain effective relationships in the workplace
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- one year of custodial experience preferred
- ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment
- knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, and procedures
- ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
- valid Driver's License with proof of automobile insurance
Job Duties
- Sweeps, mops, waxes and polishes floors
- washes walls and woodwork
- dusts furniture, piping, valves, etc
- washes and polishes windows and metal surfaces
- receives supplies and assists with recycling
- cleans restrooms and maintains supplies
- empties waste cans and ashtrays
- performs general custodial duties on grounds including picking up litter and sweeping walks
- adjusts heat and ventilating controls
- reports any repairs or adjustments required
- cleans City appliances located in common areas
- sets up furniture and equipment for special functions and meetings
- represents the City positively and professionally with colleagues and clients
- maintains effective working relationships with supervisors and coworkers
- performs related custodial work as assigned
