Job Requirements
- GED or equivalent
- ability to work night shift hours
- must be available for on-call duties including snow removal and emergency cleanups
- physical capability to perform cleaning tasks and operate custodial equipment
- adherence to college policies and safety standards
- must complete and maintain required custodial training
- reliable transportation to and from campus
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
- ability to follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures
- good communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- reliability and punctuality
- willingness to be on call for emergencies
- basic knowledge of using cleaning equipment and supplies
- physical ability to perform custodial tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- Clean classrooms and offices
- clean restrooms and locker rooms
- fill soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and other dispensers
- clean indoor common areas including ramps, patios, entryways, atriums, stairways, elevators, hallways, and balconies
- sweep and mop hard floors
- vacuum carpets
- empty and clean trash cans and ash urns
- clean glass, windows, and sills
- clean whiteboards and trays
- wipe down furniture including tables, desks, and chairs
- clean and polish handrails, metal trim, and drinking fountains
- clean walls, ceilings, corners, edges, baseboards, chair rails, doors, and frames
- polish doorknobs, frames, and kick plates
- dust and clean vents and light covers
- ensure that all lights are off and doors secured after completing duties
- remove graffiti
- keep custodial closet clean and organized
- keep custodial equipment clean and maintained
- respond to emergency calls and clean up after floods and spills using proper protective equipment
- report problems and damage
- clean tables, chairs, and empty trash in outdoor common areas
- responsible for snow removal and application of ice melt during winter
- complete and maintain all required training
- perform other duties as assigned
